Social Media is forever expanding and evolving into an increasingly efficient business-to-business communications tool, ignoring distances and borders. Social Media Marketers, like us, need to stay up-to-date and adapt quickly to changes in the social media landscape, as well as managing the problem of information overload.
To assist us in this process, we use a number of Social Media Management Tools to manage our own and client accounts including Feedly for news aggregation, BufferApp for scheduling posts and Social Report for monitoring on-going performance and business impact. One of the most useful Social Media Management Tools is, of course, Hootsuite which has very recently celebrated its 5th anniversary.
To mark this landmark, the company has posted a fascinating Infographic (embedded below) showing the evolution of Social Media from 2008 to present.
In studying the Infographic, I was reminded of the great quote from Charles Darwin:
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.
