The first two training sessions for the Digital Graduate Internship Programme, funded by Glasgow City Council, took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
The graduates have now been placed in the nine participating companies. Their role, supported by a comprehensive training and mentoring programme, will be to develop and proactively manage an agreed digital and social media strategy aimed at improving the competitiveness and business performance of their intern companies.
The Training Programme covers topics such as digital and social media strategy development, linked closely to agreed business goals and objectives; effective social media channel management (Twitter, Blogs, LinkedIn etc); Inbound/Content Marketing; best practice web design and e-marketing; and digital/social media performance measurement.
We would like to express our thanks to Glasgow City Council for supporting this innovative initiative. A very special thanks to Marjorie Miller and Christine Gardner for all their hard work over the last few months in launching the programme.
More details about the Digital Graduate Internship Programme can be found here. Please email Dr Jim Hamill if you would like more information about the programme either as a company or recent graduate. The overall aim is to create quality job opportunities for recent graduates while delivering real tangible business benefits to participating companies, especially those wishing to expand abroad.
We will be supporting the newly appointed interns with regular twitter updates of useful articles etc using the hashtag #digitalgrad
