The Scottish Export Survey, what do businesses need in 2013?

international-tradeWe are delighted to be coordinating the 2013 Scottish Export Survey. We would be very grateful if you could spare 10 minutes to complete the survey and have your say.

You will find the Scottish Export Survey here

While business has been greatly affected by the Internet revolution (most recently through Social Media and Social Business), the support available for businesses trading internationally (including those thinking about it) has changed little in the last 30 years.

With exporting and international trade continuing to play a critical role in Scotland's economic success there is an opportunity for businesses to be much more active in this area (this is supported by our findings from last year's State of Digital Scotland Survey).

It is time to take stock of the progress made in Scotland and to reconsider what businesses need and the best ways to provide support.

The Survey is aimed at Scottish companies (those not currently exporting as well as active exporters) and Trade/Business Advisers with export support experience.

All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and no mention will be made of individual companies in any published results. An Executive Summary of the key findings of the Survey can be made available upon request.

Thank you for your cooperation. Comments are most welcome.

Note: The Survey is aimed not only at companies who are currently exporting. We very much welcome the thoughts of non-exporting companies too. What support do you need to expand internationally?

Jim and Alan
