The End of Marketing and PR as Usual: ‘Be Social’

CIPR ScotlandAt the end of this post you will find a PDF outline of a presentation we are giving at a CIPR Scotland Event on the 30th January, 2013. The theme of the event is ‘Four steps to Unlocking Online Success’.

In addition to Energise, the three other main speakers are Andrew Smith of Escherman (How PR professionals can use website analytics to prove the value of what they do), Ian Dommell of the Corr Agency (Building online ‘communities’) and James Akrigg of Microsoft (The new era of work – a glimpse at future working).

The title of our own presentation has been adapted from the recent book by Brian Solis (2012), ‘The End of Business as Usual – rewiring the way you work in an era of constantly connected customers’. Using a two-way conversational style, the session will discuss the revolutionary impact that Social Media is having on the marketing and PR professions. Why we are no longer the people. Why we need to change and become social.
